Chaska completes improbable Class 4A run, 63–55 over Apple Valley
No. 5 seed Chaska finished one of the more unlikely Class 4A title paths in recent years, beating No. 7 Apple Valley 63–55 on Saturday, March 28 at Williams Arena for the program’s first Class 4A championship since 2004.
The Hawks had already knocked off No. 4 Lakeville South in the quarterfinals and stunned previously undefeated No. 1 Tartan in the semifinals. Apple Valley reached the final the hard way as well, upsetting No. 2 Wayzata on a last-second putback and then Maple Grove in the semis.
